Unless explicitly stated on the documentation for a method, the accepted Web API call content types are:

application/json

Calls using any other content type (ex: text/plain) are not supported.

The reference code of the ticket.

This is intended to allow organizations to specify an alternate identifier for the ticket, such as if this is intended to represent an item in another system.
